Back on the trail
After not going out caching for a month! Huh!! What happened?
Saturday morning was a perfect morning and perfect for going out geocaching. We wanted to continue with the caches along the Hedlingley Grand Trunk Trail. The first few we found were drive and find and then on to the next and hop out and search.
This was the first, the guy partner found this one quickly. This was one in the basketball series of caches along this trail and in the small community. This one is number 2 and you can see who found it! Way to go guy!
The next found by the girl half of GeoPartnerS. The one below is another found by me, This is in front of the sign board. The cache was hidden on the sign board and was a little difficult to find! We were just about to give it up.
A couple scenery pictures along the trail, It's very beautiful. As you can see the trail is easy walking on as well, it's well graveled. There are benches along the trail to sit in the quiet and listen to the birds and frogs, It's a nice change from vehicles and the noise of the city.
His above! We left the travel bug that we held since the last time we had been out caching into this cache. Hers to the right! This was a gate at a canal!
This was to be our last of the day. An ammo box, which is always nice...they have lots of room for tradeables and the contents are kept nice and dry.
This was our picnic site, a bench along the trail. We decided to stop to eat here and then we were going to carry on with a few more caches. After we ate and got on the trail again, we could not find the cache that we were heading to in the GPS and I was feeling a little sluggish after eating so we decided to call it a day. A big plus to this also was, the wood ticks! I found several on myself and just about had a freaking coniption fit....I just wanted to get out of the tall grass and head home! The wood ticks are certainly going to ruin my caching in the country side and enjoying our beautiful trails!
These are two shots of the scenry and looking down the trail. It was great day and it is so nice to be out on a day like today...but the bugs are going to be getting worse, so it remains to be seen on how much we get out this summer!
Have fun caching
